2026 AHH / BHS Drayton Manor Conference
Saturday, 21 March 2026 - Sunday, 22 March 2026

Early Bird Ticket booking now open!

Following another great conference in March 2025 with around 165 total attendees, workshops and a whole series of wonderful speakers, the venue is booked for the 2026 event . See below for more details and how to book.

About the Conference

The AHH / BHS conference has become established as a major international event, focusing on the care and breeding of reptiles and amphibians. Our aim is to provide a platform for sharing best practise and latest thinking across both private and professional communities involved in herpetological husbandry. Delegates from the UK, Europe, and beyond attend for a two day program of talks, networking, sponsor exhibitions, and the ever-popular zoo tour.

We aim to provide a friendly and relaxed environment with plenty of time for catching up and chatting with fellow herpetologists

The conference is organised by a team of volunteers from both the AHH (Advancing Herpetological Husbandry Facebook Group) and the British Herpetological Society. Although not staged and run by events professionals, we do our best to ensure it's well organised!

What does a ticket include?

Attendance at the conference for the days booked plus all refreshments during the day including a buffet lunch

Note - attendance at the Saturday evening dinner event is NOT included in a standard conference ticket and must be booked separately, during the booking process. The Saturday evening event will include dinner, a guaranteed informative and entertaining talk from the inimitable Carl Franklin of Texas Turtles (!) and a quiz.....and the bar will be open later than for 2025....

Conference tickets don't include admission to the resort itself, which may in any case be closed to public at time of the event

Workshops - these proved very popular in 2025

If you book for the conference, you'll then receive an emailed link to the workshop booking page which shows full details of all the ones we're running ; these are included in the ticket pricing - there's no extra charge to attend the workshops.

The workshops include these topics:

  • Specialist vet Q&A session
  • Sunlight power density importance and measurement
  • Practical workshop on creating rock work for vivaria
  • Practical workshop on creating lighting in vivaria

All workshops will run once on Saturday and again on Sunday in parallel sessions, so a delegate can book on to one for each day. The workshops each have a maximum attendance of 25 per day so don't delay in booking....

(Although they offer great opportunities for learning and hands on experience, attendance at workshops isn't compulsory of course , so if you prefer, you can spend that time browsing the sponsor stalls and tables instead..)
